The Medicinal Shop Owner (薬屋 Kusuriya?) is an old man that runs the medicinal shop at the Castle Town of Melromarc.

The medicine shop owner is a businessman at heart and welcomes new business opportunities. Despite this, he also has a kind heart and would rather judge a person himself than from the words of others.
Abilities[]
The medicine shop owner is incredibly skilled in formulating medicines from beginner to advanced levels. His knowledge is what allowed Naofumi to make a decent profit peddling medicines as a merchant.

Chronology[]
Volume 1[]
Looking for a way to generate income, Naofumi decide to pick herb and use his Shield's powers to increase the quality of materials. He then went to the apothecary who was impressed with the quality and bought the materials for a fair price despite Naofumi's terrible reputation at the time.
As Naofumi repeated sold wares to the medicine shop owner, their business relation improved. The medicine shop owner told Naofumi to sell medicine instead of ingredients for a better profit and even gave Naofumi his old apothecary tools.
Volume 2[]
After Naofumi saved the pharmacist's family in Riyute Village in the second wave, the old man happily assists Naofumi and even gives him an instruction book on how to make better quality medicines. He then tells Naofumi that the Magic Shop Owner has asked for him to stop by when he has the chance.
Volume 6[]
After being pardoned from Queen Melromarc and learning of Hengen Muso from Elrasla, Naofumi heads to the apothecary for some experimentation. Talking with the medicine shop owner, he learns about Life-force water which gives the user more vital energy. Naofumi commissions the pharmacist to create this water and eventually learns the recipe from him. It turns out that this medicine helps accelerate the training process to learn Hengen Muso.

- Naofumi Iwatani: The apothecary was one of the first business partners Naofumi made. Despite his terrible reputation, the apothecary bought Naofumi's ingredients and medicines for a decent price. After Naofumi saved Riyute Village, the medicine shop owner's attitude towards Naofumi improved and he even offered a book to teach Naofumi better medicines.

- Hickwaal: Apparently the medicine shop owner and the accessory dealer were old friends. The accessory dealer Hickwaal could even tell that Naofumi's medicine originated from the medicine shop owner after tasting some of Naofumi's medicine.[1]
