King Faubrey was the elder brother of Aultcray Melromarc XXXII and was assassinated by the false hero Takt Alsoholn Faubrey before the heroes were able to meet him.
Appearance[]
King Faubrey was so physically repugnant that he has been described as "ugly" in all meanings of the word - Melty saw him as nothing but a writhing ball of flesh or a monster pig.[1]
Personality[]
King Faubrey is a truly despicable man who has completely given over to his childish desires and base instincts. He sees all women as toys for his pleasure, which has been enabled by his incredible capability as the king of the powerful nation of Faubrey. He even has no problem treating his own niece as a toy when given to him by his sister-in-law. He also is quite lazy and has a habit of sleeping past noon despite his responsibilities.[2]
Abilities[]
While not an intelligent man, King Faubrey has learned to be cunning in order to keep his position as king. Mirellia had once described his skill at power plays to be even greater than Malty's.
Background[]
King Faubrey has been on the throne for many years. Due to his notorious way to "use" and the dispose of women, he is often used as a threat for noblewomen to act on their best behavior. The worst troublemakers would then be married off to Faubrey but many of them preferred suicide over King Faubrey's sadistic methods. Being sent to him is considered a famous but terrible method of execution.[2]
Chronology[]
Volume 16[]
After hearing about the Vassal Heroes in Faubrey who had defeated the Kirin, a delegate party from Melromarc including the heroes traveled to Faubrey to learn about the heroes. They sought audience with the king. However, as they entered the throne room, they find a young man on the king's throne. The man introduces himself as Takt and reveals that he had quietly disposed of the king and taken over the country. It turns out that Malty had also been manipulating Takt. The heroes are ambushed in the throne room and barely make it out alive. However, Queen Mirellia is dealt a mortal blow.
Relationships[]
Family[]
- Aultcray Melromarc XXXII: King Faubrey is Aultcray's elder brother by 13 years. Unlike Aultcray, King Faubrey stayed in Faubrey when their parents were killed which allowed him to assume his role as king. The two were not in good terms and Aultcray is terrified of the idea of sending Malty to his brother.
- Malty S Melromarc: When Malty arranged the summoning of all four heroes within Melromarc, Queen Mirellia had negotiated Malty's hand in marriage to prevent Faubrey from retaliating. Malty avoided this engagement as best as she could by becoming Motoyasu's companion. However, when she left the hero, she was supposed to be handed over to King Faubrey who was prepared to receive her as his ten-thousandth "toy."
- Takt Alsaholn Faubrey: Takt is a distant relative of King Faubrey. Some time around Takt had defeated the Guardian Beast Kirin, he had also silently killed King Faubrey and assumed his role as king. No one outside the kingdom knew about this coup until Takt ambushed the heroes and started his campaign to take over the world.
Trivia[]
- Due to the sheer depravity, perverted nature and sadism of Faubrey's current King, a unique and unspoken implication of being "engaged" or sent off to "serve" the king had already been equated to being the equivalent of being sent off to be subjected to a slow, painful and horrifying death satisfying the King's lust. Because of this, numerous of Faubrey's neighboring nations had already begun using the political engagement to the king as a solution for troublesome noblewomen of high or low status and Princesses of royal birth who have caused trouble but still had the ability to escape from typical law enforcement and punishment, as an unofficial execution method. With most unlucky enough to be punished this way instead choosing to commit suicide the moment the engagement is made official to avoid the fate of becoming the King's "toy".
