Learning that there's more than a month before the next Wave, Naofumi and Raphtalia try to raise their levels. Speaking with the Slave Merchant, they buy a monster egg that hatches into a Philorial. As they level up their new companion they realize that, similar to Raphtalia, the monster grows as it gains experience.
