Biscas T. Balmus (Bisukatti Barumasu?) was first introduced as one of the main antagonists in The Rising of the Shield Hero Web Novel.
He was also introduced in The Reprise of the Spear Hero Web Novel as one of the main antagonist characters.
He is the leader of the Church of the Three Heroes and commonly referred to as the High Priest.
Appearance[]
He wears spectacles and a white robe. He is easily a middle-aged person.
Personality[]
He has a twisted personality. He will preach and believe anything for his convenience. When his religion begins to be questioned, he begins to claim that the heroes to be fake. He is a fanatic and so are his staunch followers. He was willing to go to any extent to defend his preaching, even if it means framing the heroes his religion worships. He would make ambitious plans that would heavily affect the kingdom.
The High Priest used his deep connections in the nation to do away with any opposing authority in the kingdom. He was so narrow-minded that he calls all of his actions "the will of God." He also claims that his followers who died in the fight against Shield Hero to be gifted by being able to go to Heaven.
When wielding the replica of the legendary weapons, the High Priest proclaimed himself to be God and anyone opposing him as evil. After seeing his followers constantly rising from the defeat and pain, Naofumi suspects the High Priest of using some sort of brainwashing magic on them and using them for his convenience.
Background[]
The High Priest of the Three Heroes Church masterminded many events and tried to kill all of the heroes. He killed the queen's right-hand man who happens to be Eclair's father so that the authority rest with Trash, who was at the time was very gullible and easy to manipulate.
Summary[]
The Rising of the Shield Hero[]
Taking advantage of the queen's absence, he headed the church to propose the idea of summoning the Heroes for the waves.
The High Priest finally revealed himself and tried to kill Naofumi, Motoyasu and their parties and justified himself with his twisted logic. He was surprised by the arrival of the Ren, Itsuki, and their parties, who were thought to be dead. However, he still overwhelmed them, until Naofumi used his Shield of Wrath to kill the Pope. After this incident, the Queen proclaimed that the Church of Three Heroes was to be outlawed and the country would follow the religion of the Four Holy Saints. The Queen worked to correct all the rumors the previous High Priest spread about Naofumi. But, her efforts failed to spread as much as the bad rumors about Naofumi did. The Queen speculated that the Church of Three Heroes didn't kill Naofumi in the beginning to avoid war with the world and hoped the Waves would kill him. Due to the naivety of the other three Heroes, the Church had an easy controlling them and using them for their bidding. The Church planned to use the other Heroes when they were strong enough to kill Naofumi if he survived the waves. The Pope's actions not only put his entire nation but also the world in crisis.
His followers escaped their sentences during the Spirit Tortoise incident when the Spirit Tortoise destroyed Melromarc's jail killed their slave seal holder. They still continued their extremist actions to fulfill the Pope's dream, only to fail and be publicly executed for their attempted cue.The Reprise of the Spear Hero[]
